Michael Burgess is an associate at Bereskin & Parr LLP and a member of the Litigation practice group. His practice focuses on litigation in all areas of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyright and confidential information.
Michael completed a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on thermofluids at the University of British Columbia. Upon graduation, he began working as a naval architect and marine engineer at one of Canada’s leading ship design firms where he focused primarily on the design and development of tugs and fireboats for both the domestic and international markets.
Michael has served as Executive Editor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review, and was the recipient of the Director’s List distinction at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies in London, U.K. for placing amongst the top of his class.
Michael is a registered Professional Engineer in the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario.
