Bereskin & Parr LLP is celebrating its 55th anniversary on February 1, 2020. The firm opened its first office in Toronto in 1965 with two founding partners, one assistant and no clients. We have since grown to be one of the largest intellectual property firms in Canada, with more than 80 lawyers and patent and trademark agents, and approximately 170 staff members located in four offices: Toronto, Montréal, Mississauga and the Waterloo Region. Our professionals bring expertise from numerous fields, combining technical qualifications with industry and legal knowledge. Both the firm and its award-winning professionals are consistently ranked as the benchmark for IP law in Canada.
“From our beginning, our strategy has been to focus on professional excellence and exemplary client service. We strive to attract bright, motivated people who appreciate our collegial atmosphere. This strategy has served the firm well, and now, 55 years later, the firm is one of the two largest IP boutiques in Canada, is known world-wide, and has the depth of legal talent and systems to serve clients in every aspect of patent, trademark, copyright and ancillary law.” – Daniel Bereskin, Q.C., Founding Partner.
“As Bereskin & Parr celebrates 55 years in business we are both proud of the firm’s past and excited for its future. The firm’s global reputation and strong commitment to customer service have allowed us to establish long and trusted relationships with both domestic and international clients over the years; their creativity has been integral to our success and we thrive on the interesting work we undertake to protect their IP. People are our asset and we hire the best professionals and staff who, together, deliver a superior work product.
Bereskin & Parr’s anniversary also provides an opportunity to reflect on our core values of professional excellence, collegiality, fairness and teamwork as well as the tradition of excellence that we have cultivated. These values have enabled us to grow while maintaining a positive environment for our firm and our clients.
We cannot thank our clients enough for their trust and support, and we look forward to many more years of partnership with them.” – Stephen Beney, Managing Partner.
