At Bereskin & Parr, we are celebrating and reflecting on the meaning of #IWD2020 and continuing to promote the importance of #EachforEqual. We wish you a happy International Women's Day!
Intellectual Property (IP) plays a key role in engaging women in innovation, business and leadership. When IP rights are strongly protected, the rights of women are protected as well. Statistics have shown that countries with stronger IP rights tend to have stronger measures of gender equality. Women in the economy are a powerful force for change and leadership, and Intellectual property rights can enable women who develop innovative ideas and products.
Bereskin & Parr LLP continues to celebrate and appreciate all the innovative and creative women who are leaders of innovation. In particular, I am pleased to announce that we have just sponsored three incredible opportunities for women in innovation, namely, the Entrepreneurial Leadership & Learning Alliance (ELLA) program, led by York University; Beyond Boundaries and HerHalton created by Haltech; and the Tech Undivided program that was launched by ventureLAB. Through opportunities such as these, and the many ways in which IP strengthens the quality of careers for women, Bereskin & Parr will continue to support women innovators creating a stronger economy and a more gender equal society.
